We have started our next film, a documentary about a blind cinema club, and three extraordinary blind people – a flamenco singer, actor, and baseball player based in Havana, Cuba.   Finding the story was full of surprises.

“Rising” at Camerimage 2011

Dzien dobry! Tim has been invited back to Poland’s prestigious Camerimage Film Festival – the world’s premier cinematography festival – for a special screening of his Discovery series “RISING: Rebuilding Ground Zero,” executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

Tim will give a Q&A after the screening along with series creator and exec. producer Danny Forster, hosted by Discovery Networks Central Europe.

It is a huge honor, as director of photography, to share this series with the Camerimage audience and to represent all the incredible people who worked on the show. Tim also attended last year’s Camerimage with our film “Sun Come Up.”

Sun Come Up is an Oscar® nominated documentary that shows the human face of climate change. The film follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean, and now, some of the world’s first environmental refugees.

When climate change threatens their survival, the islanders face a painful decision. They must leave their ancestral land in search of a new place to call home. Sun Come Up follows a group of young islanders as they search for land and build relationships in war-torn Bougainville, 50 miles across the open ocean.

Sun Come Up has screened at over 50 festivals worldwide was nominated for the International Documentary Association’s Pare Lorenz Award, and won several awards including a Crystal Heart Award at the Heartland Festival. The film had its US broadcast debut in October 2011 on HBO.
